The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, has arrived in Nigeria with a pledge to assist wounded soldiers as part of his engagements in the country.
During his visit to Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State on Friday, Prince Harry expressed his commitment to supporting soldiers who have been injured in the line of duty.
Governor Sani warmly welcomed the prince and praised him for his solidarity with the Nigerian Armed Forces, especially in aiding soldiers who have suffered injuries during their service.
He emphasized the significance of such visits in boosting the morale of the courageous and resilient officers and soldiers.
Prince Harry’s visit, Governor Sani remarked, underscores his dedication to inspiring recovery, facilitating rehabilitation, and fostering appreciation for the Nigerian military personnel.
In his remarks, Prince Harry stated that his presence in Nigeria aims to bring joy to wounded Nigerian soldiers and their families through the Invictus Games, an initiative he founded a decade ago.
As a gesture of traditional hospitality, Governor Sani presented Prince Harry with gift items and adorned him in traditional Hausa attire.
Subsequently, Prince Harry and his delegation proceeded from the Kaduna State Government House to the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital to interact with wounded soldiers undergoing treatment.
