PDP fires leader in A’Ibom

Members, Elders and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Okon Ward 1, Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom state, have petitioned the State Chairman of the party, Aniekan Akoan against its political leader, Mr Joseph Ubokudom for “indecorous” and “incongruous” attitude arising from the PDP mock congress and other related issues.

The petition copied to the state governor, Pastor Umo Eno as leader of the party, a former Nigerian Ambassador to Russia Assam Assam SAN,, former minister of Environment, Chief Nduese Essien, Commissioner of Local government and Chieftaincy Affairs and former chairman of Eket, Frank Archibong accused the embattled leader of lack of competence, character, lack of inclusivity, turning the party into his personal Estate, High-handedness, dishonesty and fraud among other dishonourable acts.

“We the undersigned are writing on behalf of ourselves, leaders of Thoughts, stakeholders and the entire members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Okon Ward 1, Eket Local Government Area. We are constrained by circumstances beyond our control to draw your attention to indecorous and incongruous attitude of our Ward leader which has become unbearable and inadvertently, has led to a total loss of confidence in him”, the petition stated.

Mr Ubokudom is accused of hijacking the party Spread Sheet meant for the mock congress, nocturnally filled and returned the Sheet with names other than the names that were agreed to by all stakeholders and members of the party flagrantly without the knowledge of stakeholders.

According to the petition the action of Mr Ubokudom on the mock congress, , is just a drop in the ocean of indecorous and incongruous attitude of the leader.

On High-handedness, the people accused Ubokudom of singlehandedly selecting his children and cronies on all government appointments and other opportunities without carrying major stakeholders of the Ward along.

“He takes decisions alone without minding if such decisions will be detrimental to the growth of the party.
