Kwara CP, Former PPRO, Founders of SBS 96.9FM and Garin FM, Among Honorees at Kwara PCRC Event

Alhaji Salmon Babatunde Salmon, the esteemed founder of SBS 96.9FM, received a prestigious Humanitarian Award at the Palliative and Award of Honour Programme organized by the Kwara State Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC).

Themed “caring for those who served the nation, a food Palliative for Police widows,” the event welcomed distinguished guests including the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Victor Mobolaji Olaiya, recognized for his outstanding efforts in ensuring the state’s security. Also honored were Rev Mrs. Olaiya, President of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), retired Police Public Relations Officer, Ajayi Okasanmi, and representatives from the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Murtala Raheem, and Dr. Mahmud Abdulraheem, CEO of Garin FM, acknowledged for credible reportage.

The PCRC lauded all the recipients of the award for their significant contributions towards fostering peace and safety in Kwara, he particularly commended Salmon for the reliable information broadcasted on SBS 96.9FM.

Expressing gratitude, Alhaji Salmon stressed the importance of supporting the widows and widowers of police officers, recognizing their sacrifices for the nation’s progress.

In a heartfelt gesture, the SBS 96.9FM Founder generously donated to the palliative efforts for the widows and widowers, offering prayers for strength and comfort to all families who have lost loved ones in service to the nation.

The event was attended by prominent figures from across Kwara, showcasing solidarity and support for the state’s police force.
