Group Partners Police to Check Sub- Standard Food Produce In A’Ibom

Agricultural Produce Sellers Association Of Nigeria, APSAN, Akwa Ibom state Branch, has solicited police partnership to check fake and sub standard food produce that flood Akwa Ibom markets.

State chairman and South-South coordinator of the group, Chief Anthony Akpanobong who made the plea during a courtesy visit on the commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom state, CP Waheed Ayilara at the state headquaters, Ikot Akpan Abia, recently, noted with dismay that sub standard products and particularly, food items, have constituted severe threats to life, hence, their intervention and appeal for police partnership.

He commended the state police, under his watch, for making the state one of the safest and peaceful in the country, even as he pledged continued cooperation by ways of useful and timely information that will help them protect lives and properties.

Responding, CP Ayilara appreciated the group for the initiative, describing it as patriotic, but advised them to collaborate and partner with the National Food and Drugs Administration Agency, NAFDAC and related agencies to avoid usurpation and conflict of duties, even as he assured them of police partnership in any functions aimed at public welfare and security .

The visit attracted the state officers of the group, Deputy Commissioner Of Police Administration and Operation, the Police Public Relations Officer, Timfon John.
