A’Ibom Police Apprehends Ex-Convict

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested an ex-convict, Eddiong Anthony Matthew.

According to reports, police operatives on a crime prevention patrol apprehended the 35-year-old indigene of Ikot Ekong Village in Mkpat Enin LGA, who was found partially dressed in military camouflage.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Timfon John, confirmed the arrest. 

According to him, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect was an ex-convict who had been committing various crimes in the state while impersonating a military officer with a warrant officer rank.

Items recovered from the suspect included a walkie-talkie, phones suspected to have been stolen from his victims, a brown coverall dress, and an RCC ID card.
