๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฆ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ, ๐—š๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐˜€๐˜„๐—ถ๐—น๐—น ๐—”๐—ธ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—ถ๐—ผ has called on the Chinese government to continue with her friendly relations with Nigeria especially in the area of trade and infrastructure.

Senator Akpabio made the call on Thursday when the Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Peoples Republic of China, Mr Zhang Yi paid a courtesy visit to him and the leadership of the Nigerian Senate in Abuja.

A statement by the Special Asistant on Media/Communication to the Senate President, Anietie Ekong quoted Senator Akpabio to have said that Nigeria will continue to collaborate with China to improve her infrastructure and trade relations.

According to Senator Akpabio, ” Nigeria enjoys good relations with China. We want to thank the Embassy of the People Republic of China for facilitating trade between our two countries. On a daily basis, Nigerians are trooping to China for trade and business.

“Several of your companies are doing well here like the Chinese Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC) and a lot of other companies working here to improve our infrastructure. I thank you for bringing them here and for the transfer of technology to our people.

“I want to assure you that the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria will continue to collaborate with the Chinese and we are delighted that the channel has been opened through this visit by your Embassy,” Senator Akpabio said.

The Charge d’Affaires, Mr Zgang Yi recalled that Nigeria and China have enjoyed a good relationship especially in the areas of infrastructure and trade and sought the cooperation of Nigerian parliament to promote bilateral relations between the parliaments of both countries.
