Zamfara Gov appoints new community guard’s Commandant

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has given his approval for Major Maikano Adamu (retired) to be the Zamfara State Community Protection Guards’ acting commandant.

This was disclosed. In a statement released by the state commissioner for information, Munnir Haidara, on Thursday, he stated that the appointment will take immediate effect.

The statement read: “The appointment of the acting CPG Commandant is a result of the recent suspension of Col. Rabiu Garba Yandoto (retd.) by the state government.”

The current acting commandant, Adamu, served as the acting deputy commandant prior to his appointment.

The former CPG Commandant was suspended on Wednesday after making statements against the state government for providing inadequate funds for the organization.
