By Daniel Ayantoye

Christians have been admonished to live a life of purity and forsake sin as there is no amount of prayer that can save the dead from judgement.

Rt. Rev. Andrew Ajayi gave the charge during the burial commendation service of Chief Gabriel Oladepo Ajayi at the St. Peter Anglican Church, Iloffa on Thursday October 13, 2021.

The Cleric stressed that the deed of a person while on earth will determine the judgement he will receive from God after death.

Citing the Holy Bible in Hebrew 9:27, the Cleric maintained that, no one will be coming back to the world after death, hence, the need to surrender ones life to Jesus Christ which is the only true way.

“When we come together like this, the sermon is not for the dead but for the living. No amount of prayer you pray now for the dead that can work for him, but what he has done while on earth will speak for him.
