Wike’s Rich Experience Will Offer More To Nigerians — Ex-Presidential Aide

Former Presidential aide, Obol Okoi Obono-Obla, has described the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, as a man whose rich experience would offer more to Nigerians.

He said that “The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is gradually becoming one of the best ministers in the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

Obono-Obla added: “He is carrying out far-reaching and fundamental reforms of the administration of the Federal Capital Territory, to return to the vision of the founding fathers and restore its original master plan and aesthetics.

“One of the reforms initiated by Wike that resonates well with many residents of Abuja is an administrative procedure he has introduced to restore transparency, accountability, and orderliness to the hitherto chaotic and opaque land administration in Abuja.

“These administrative measures include the requirements that a certificate of occupancy contains an NIN and BVN.

“Also, the requirement is that all landlords in Abuja must recertify their title documents.

“As a goal-getter, and a big-hearted leader who is not afraid to tread where the fiddle-minded dread, Wike has embarked on measures to complete ongoing road projects and also resuscitate the numerous abandoned road construction projects, which dot the landscape of the city of Abuja for the past 15 years and caught the eye of sorry and indeed ugly spectacle.”

He has removed the Federal Capital Territory Abuja from the Single Treasury Account (TSA) to stop the bottlenecks and administrative red-tapism that have plagued the financial architecture of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja since TSA was introduced in 2015.”

According to him, the FCT Minister coming from the background of experience as a legal practitioner, politician, Chief of Staff to a governor, local government chairman, Minister of State and governor of Rivers State would have more to offer to Nigerians.

Obono-Obla, who was also the chairman of the Special Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Properties (SPIP) during President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, made his position known in an interview with some journalists in Abuja.

“Less than six months after his coming into office, he has demonstrated that he knows his onions.

“This is to internalize and enhance efficient service delivery in the bureaucracy of the Federal Capital Territory.

“I will suggest that Wike should also embark on massive flower and tree planting to preserve Abuja’s ecosystem and beautify it.”
