Wike maps out 30 Abuja areas, may demolish 6,000 buildings

No fewer than 6,000 illegal structures in Abuja may be demolished by the Federal Government under the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

This is coming as 30 areas in the FCT have been mapped out for the operation.

Recall that the Minister on Monday expressed his commitment to restore the Abuja master plan by taken down illegally constructed building.

He also said the C of Os of lands bought and has not been developed will be revoked.

He said, “We would find time to go back and conduct a new survey. As of February 2022, 6,000 abandoned houses were identified.”

The areas mapped out includes: Apo Mechanic Village, Byanzhin, Dawaki, Dei Die, Durumi, Dutse, Garki, Garki Village, Gishiri, and Gwagwalape.

Others are: Idu, Jabi, Kado Village, Karmo, Karshi, Karu, Katampe, Ketti Village, Kpaduma, Kabusa, Kpana Village, Kubwa, Lokogoma, Lugbe, Mabushi, Mpape, Nyanya, Piya Kasa, Jikwoyi and Galadima.
