VP @57: A rare breed politician, Keyamo hails

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Management, Festus Keyamo on Saturday hailed the Vice-president, Kashim Shettima on the occasion of his 57th birthday.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria in a message posted on X(formerly Twitter) described Shettima as a “rare breed among his peers.”

Keyamo who also hailed the “intellectual capacities” of the VP also described him as a man of humility.

“Happy birthday to the Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, @KashimSM, a rare breed amongst his peers and a suave gentleman and politician. Words fail me to describe the intellectual fecundity of our Vice-President, yet he relates with everyone with stunning humility. I can only wish him many happy returns, God’s abundant blessings, good health and divine wisdom in carrying out his enormous responsibilities.”

Shettima, born 1966 in Maiduguri the capital of Borno state served as Governor of Borno state between 2011 and 2019 after which he proceeded to the Senate where he served as Senator representing Borno central between 2019 and 2023.

In 2022, he was unveiled as the running mate of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu.

On March 1,2023, Tinubu and Shettima were confirmed by the Independent National Electoral Commission as winners of the 2023 presidential elections. He was sworn in alongside President Tinubu on May 29,2023.
