The Nigeria Police Force on Tuesday raided Diamond Hotel, Alakia, Ibadan, Oyo State, belonging to the immediate past chairman of the Park Management System (PMS) in Oyo State, Mukaila Lamidi popularly called Auxiliary.
Fleets of guns, charms, money and other ammunitions were recovered during the operation.
It was learnt that Auxiliary fled the hotel when the police operatives arrived at the hotel.
The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde had earlier on Monday through his Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi dissolved the Management of the Motor Park System (PMS) in the state, a situation which infuriated Auxiliary and his followers.
Other items recovered from Auxiliary’s hotel includes; 474 bullets, cutlass and a huge amount of cash.
In the video seen online, a voice was heard saying Auxiliary left his phone and fled.
A source told SaharaReporters the raid followed information from credible sources that Auxiliary had concluded plans to cause unrest in Ibadan, the state capital on Wednesday, following the dissolution of his committee.
The Disciplinary Committee, Park Management System (PMS) under the leadership of Auxiliary had been dissolved in a statement on Monday, May 29, 2023, saying the dissolution was with immediate effect.
The statement had read, “I have the directive of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde to inform you of the dissolution of the Disciplinary Committee, Park Management System with immediate effect from today, Monday, 29th May, 2023”.
In February, the Oyo State Government introduced the Park Management System to increase the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
It denied the new structure was not in any way a lift on the existing proscription on the activities of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
