UNN Appoints Prof Ezeokonkwo as Acting VC

Prof. Romanus Chukwuduruo Ezeokonkwo has been elected as the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) by the University Senate.

A distinguished professor of Veterinary Parasitology, Prof. Ezeokonkwo has held several key positions within the university, showcasing his extensive experience and dedication.

Prof. Ezeokonkwo’s previous roles at UNN include serving as a member of the UNN Governing Council, Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Development Research, and the pioneer Provost of the College of Postgraduate Studies.

He also held the position of Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), contributing significantly to the university’s administration and academic excellence.

In addition to his roles at UNN, Prof. Ezeokonkwo is a Fulbright scholar, having completed his programme at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst during the 2001/2002 academic session.

His international experience and exposure through the Fulbright programme have enriched his academic and administrative capabilities.

The new acting Vice Chancellor has also served as the Secretary General of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), adding to his diverse and comprehensive professional background.

The University of Nigeria, Nsukka, extends heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Ezeokonkwo on his new appointment.

Noting his energy, steadfastness, and lifelong commitment to service are highly commendable.
