UI Condoles with Makinde on Brother’s Demise

The University of Ibadan (UI) has expressed its condolences to the Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, FNSE, D.Sc., on the passing of his elder brother, Mr. Sunday Makinde, who died on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the age of 65.

In a letter signed by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode O. Adebowale, mni, FAS, fspsp, on behalf of the Council, Senate, Congregation, staff, and students of the University, the UI community sympathised with Governor Makinde, a UI@75 Ambassador Extraordinaire and a notable benefactor of the institution.

The Vice-Chancellor prayed for God’s comfort and strength for the Governor and the entire Makinde family as they navigate this difficult time.

He also prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the late Mr. Sunday Makinde.
