Two Nigerian Airports Win Awards for Emergency Management and Resilience


 
The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, and Port Harcourt International Airport have been honored by the Airports Council International (ACI) for their outstanding efforts in emergency management and resilience.
 
Speaking at the event, the Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Tunde Moshood, announced the recognition during the Gala Night at the 33rd Annual General Assembly of ACI Africa, which took place in Johannesburg, South Africa.
 
“These prestigious awards are a testament to the unwavering commitment and hard work of everyone involved, especially the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, in ensuring excellence in airport emergency management and resilience,” Moshood stated.
 
The awards were presented by ACI Africa Secretary-General Ali Tounsi, alongside ACI Africa President, Emmanuel Chaves.
 
According to Moshood, the honor signifies Nigeria’s growing focus on improving airport operations.
 
“Nigeria’s aviation sector can take pride in this achievement, which underscores the dedication to providing secure and efficient travel experiences,” he added.
 
These recognitions highlight the strides made by the Nigerian aviation industry in enhancing safety standards and emergency response, boosting confidence in the nation’s airports.
