Troops Clears Kidnappers’ Camp, Rescues Victims in Taraba

Troops under Operation Whirl Stoke in Taraba State have successfully dismantled a kidnappers’ camp and rescued numerous victims.  

The operation, conducted by soldiers from the 6th Brigade of the Nigerian Army, targeted a camp situated in the Punkun area of Fikyu, Ussa Local Government Area. 

Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Lt. Oni Olubodunde, confirmed the operation’s success, revealing that intelligence-driven efforts led to the dislodgment of the bandits and the recovery of multiple weapons and ammunition.  

“Additionally, troops collaborating with Sub-Sector 1A OPWS cleared a terrorist hideout in Vingir Village, Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, Benue State, forcing the terrorists to retreat,” he said. 

During the operation, a suspected kidnapper, Dogo Manu, was apprehended with two Techno mobile phones and ₦40,000 in his possession. 

A further search of the kidnappers’ camp yielded the recovery of an AK-47 rifle.
