Tinubu pledges NAF support to combat terrorism

President Bola Tinubu reiterated his government’s commitment to addressing the country’s security challenges during the induction of two T129 Attack Combat Helicopters and one King Air Beechcraft 360ER mobility aircraft for the Nigerian Air Force.

Senator Kashim Shettima, standing in for the president, highlighted that the acquisition of these aircraft symbolizes the administration’s dedication to enhancing national security.

The induction ceremony took place at the 131 Engineering Group Hangar, Nigeria Air Force Base, Makurdi.

The president made it known that the addition of new aircraft will significantly enhance the Nigerian Air Force’s airpower during our fight against terrorism. He said since its creation in 1964, NAF has been a crucial player in national security, international missions, and humanitarian efforts.

“Let me commend the Chief of Air Staff, Officers, and men for their commitment to enhancing national security, I assure you that the Tinubu administration will continue to support NAF and another military, indeed, the Armed Forces of Nigeria towards combating terrorism, oil theft and other criminal activities.”

The president stated that significant headway has been made in current anti-terrorism initiatives, but he cautioned against premature celebration until all security issues are resolved.

He urged a shift in perspective, approach, and methods to combat this issue.
