President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended the tenure of Mrs. Kemi Nanna Nandap as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).

The extension, which was announced on Monday, will see Nandap continue to lead the NIS until December 31, 2026.

According to a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the extension is a testament to Nandap’s exemplary leadership and the progress the NIS has made under her watch.

Nandap, who has been in charge of the NIS since March 1, 2024, has been credited with significant advancements in border management, modernization of immigration processes, and national security measures.

President Tinubu commended Nandap for her dedication to the Service’s strategic priorities, which align with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The President reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the NIS in fulfilling its mandate to protect Nigeria’s territorial integrity and promote safe, legal, and orderly migration.

Nandap’s initial tenure was set to expire on August 31, 2025, but the extension will give her more time to continue implementing her vision for the NIS.
