President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of 20 federal commissioners for the National Population Commission (NPC). Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity Chief Ajuri Ngelale who disclosed this in a statement in Abuja said nine current federal commissioners were reappointed a second term in office.
The appointees are Hon. Emmanuel Trump Eke from Abia state, Dr Clifford Zirra from Adamawa state (reappointed), Mr Chidi Christopher Ezeoke from Anambra state (reappointed), and Mr Isa Audu Buratai from Borno state (reappointed).
Others are Bishop Alex Ukam from Cross River state, Ms Blessyn Brume-Ataguba from Delta state, Dr Jeremiah Ogbonna Nwankwegu from Ebonyi state, Dr Tony Aiyejina from Edo state (reappointed) and Mr Ejike Ezeh from Enugu state (reappointed).
Others include Mr Abubakar Damburam from Gombe state (reappointed), Prof Uba Nnabue from Imo state (reappointed), Ms Sa’adatu Dogon Bauchi Garba from Kaduna state, Dr Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa from Kano state, Hon. Yori Afolabi from Kogi state, and Hon. Olakunle Sobukola from Ogun state.
Others are Hon. Temitayo Oluseye Oluwatuyi Ondo state, Senator Mudashiru Hussain from Osun state (reappointed), Ms Mary Ishaya Afan from Plateau state, Mr Ogiri Itotenaan Henry from Rivers state, and Mr Saany Sale from Taraba (reappointed).
The President charged the new and returning NPC federal fommissioners to successfully implement all measures taken by his administration to produce accurate population data with which lasting solutions to Nigeria’s socio-political and economic challenges can be conclusively developed and executed.
