Three Kebbi Assembly Members defect from PDP to APC

Three out of the four House of Assembly members elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi State have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), bringing their supporters along.

The announcement was made during the APC’s campaign flag-off for the Local Government Elections in Koko Besse Local Government Area.

Rt. Hon. Usman Yankwai, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, explained that the lawmakers from Argungu, Bunza, and Yauri constituencies decided to join the APC due to the strong leadership and performance of Governor Nasir Idris.

“This move shows our Assembly members’ commitment to Governor Idris’s vision for the development and progress of Kebbi,” the Speaker stated.

At the rally, Alhaji Abubakar Kana Zuru, the APC state chairman, welcomed the defectors and promised them the party’s support and fairness.

He highlighted Governor Idris’s efforts to transform Kebbi State within a year.

Former governor and Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, praised the achievements of Governor Idris’s administration and called for continued support for the APC’s policies.

Similarly, Saidu Dakingari, former governor and Director General of the APC campaign committee, urged voters to support the APC in the upcoming local government elections.

Former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, expressed excitement over the developments in the state under the APC administration and called for collective support for Governor Idris.

Governor Idris, addressing the crowd at the rally, thanked the supporters for their backing and urged them to vote for the APC in the local government elections.

He assured the people of his administration’s commitment to economic development and unity in Kebbi State.
