This is Envy – Nigerians react as Pastor Bakare tackles Bishop Oyedepo

Nigerians have condemned Pastor Tunde Bakare of Citadel Global Community Church for attacking his counterpart, Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church Worldwide.

Bakare in an interview on a TVC programme on Saturday, August 28, 2021, while criticising oyedepo, said he makes noise about his private jet.

In his words, he said, “By the way, when he makes noise about his private jet of a thing, do you know that I once acquired a 1707 with the logo of our church on it? Are you aware of that? But we use it for business. I don’t buy a plane to be spending money on it, that I can jump quickly on another and pay little money to where I’m going.”

Bakare also said he once tore a book written by Oyedepo publicly because it was full of errors.

His comments however didn’t go down well with some Nigerians who took to Facebook to express their dissatisfaction.

According to one of the Facebook users identified as Prince Olatunbosun Abiodun Adekunle, Pastor Bakare didn’t make the comment as a spiritual person but canal.

Aniefon Akwat wrote “TUNDE Bakare should understand that the church is facing serious threat in Nigeria and anyone that has the mind of Christ should know that TACKLING one another is not the best.

Bishop Oyedepo is one of the greatest Church Voices in Nigeria. His wealth and fame is a big plus to the church in Nigeria. I don’t see Jesus Christ applauding Bakare or any other believer for that matter for TACKLING a brother.” He added

Another user, Akpa Fedoje Emmanuel wrote, Dear Pastor Bakare, wisdom is profitable to Direct. Not saying anything at all would have been better. Doctrinal differences will not make you go this far, you may not know it is envy but it is sir. While you may be right or wrong, I will advice you rather visits and talk with him instead of all this. You cant explain or convince me and many others that this isn’t envy.

For Iheanyi lwejuo “Why are Nigeria Pastors fighting among themselves, instead of following Jesus Christ injuctions. The world will know that you are my disciples if you have love for one another” this is why Turkey the heart of christianity fall to the Islamic fanatics. Christians in Nigeria “Watch &Pray.”

As for Okoliko Lizzy, “Why worried about what another one make noise about, you should make noise about what you have na.

To have a jet and maintaining it is not a joke ooooo00 man of God. Let’s learn to appreciate each other”

Kunle Fasanya said “I thought PTB ought to have grown beyond this? How many people is he going to fight? There was a time the pulpit of LRA was used to fight Adeboye, Oyedepo,Kumuyi,Olukoya etc.

Unfortunately, the Oyedepo he’s talking about doesn’t even send him.

Also Mercy Esenabhalu Anita said “Can we just unite as Christian to tackle the problem of this nation other than fighting ourselves, no love what are we preaching, this heavenly race

Similarly, Maria Oseghale said “Face the state of the nation Nigeria. Pray about the killings, banditry and kidnappings. Is not about bickering now and talks that are very unnecessary and very irrelevant.”

Zebulon I. Apollos said “Bakere has just a Church in Ikeja, Lagos state only. Tell me viewers, where does he need to fly to? He is a local pastor. He had only one church jet, could not care for it and converted to commercial bus. Oyedepo has churches in every LGA in Nigeria. He practically has churches all over the world. So he needs private jets. He is a global pastor who oversees churches. Bakare is a pastor and not a General Overseer.”

Meanwhile a facebook user identified as Akpa Fedoje Emmanuel said Pastor Bakara is simply envious of Bishop Oyedepo. Adding it would have been better to keep quite.

“Dear Pastor Bakare, wisdom is profitable to Direct. Not saying anything at all would have been better. Doctrinal differences will not make you go this far, you may not know it is envy but it is sir. While you may be right or wrong, I will advice you rather visits and talk with him instead of all this. You can’t explain or convince me and many others that this isn’t envy.”

John Shepherd has however called for God to deliver Pastor Bakare. He urged him to retraced his step before it’s too late.
