Suspected kidnapper arrested in Kaduna – Police

The Kaduna Police Command has detained a 35-year-old man (name withheld) after discovering firearms and ammunition during a raid on the suspect’s residence.

This was said in a statement made on Friday in Kaduna by ASP Mansir Hassan, the command spokesman.

According to Hassan, the suspect was taken into custody by members of the CP Monitoring Unit on February 29 at his home in Ganga Uku village, Mararaban Jos.

Six live cartridges, one discharge GPRG round, seven discharge cartridges, a blood-stained cutlass, a fake pistol, two Dane guns, and a fake revolver rifle were among the items that the operatives found, he claimed.

The suspect, according to a police spokeswoman, collaborated with others who are now at large on February 13 to kidnap Samaila Abdullahi, 40, in the Keke Kingdom neighborhood of Mararaban Jos.

“The victim was forcefully taken to an unknown destination,” he stressed further.

The suspect is currently being held; he said, “This successful operation underscores the overall commitment of the police command, led by Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ali Dabigi C, to maintain law and order in Kaduna State.”.
