Subsidy: Transport firm reduces fare by 25%

Capital Luxury Transit in Akwa Ibom State has announced a 25% cut in transportation fares to all routes across the country.

This was contained in a statement by the chairman of the group, Mr Edidiong Udoidiong, made available to our correspondent in Uyo on Sunday.

Udoidiong, who disclosed that the reduction commenced on June 15, 2023, noted that the removal of fuel subsidies has affected various sectors, including transportation, adding “We are keenly aware of the impact this has on our valued customers”.

The statement reads in part “The recent removal of fuel subsidies has undeniably affected various sectors, including transportation, and we are keenly aware of the impact this has on our valued customers.

“In the light of the prevailing economic challenges facing our great nation, Capital Luxury Transit, a trailblazer in luxury road transportation, has taken a bold step towards mitigating the burden on our esteemed passengers.

“We are excited to announce a nationwide fare reduction of up to 25% which commenced since June15 2023(two months and ongoing) Understanding the financial strains faced by individuals and families.”
