Stop reporting Police officers on social media, IGP tells Nigerians

The Acting Inspector-General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun, has enjoined Nigerians to stop reporting Police officers who misbehaved on social media.

He urged Citizens to take their complaints to the Commissioner of Police and Police Public Relations Officer in their respective States.

According to him, the social media is flood by falsehood, hence the need to be conscious of information spread about the force on this platform.

Egbetokun said this during a stakeholder meeting at the Headquarters of the Police Command in in Ibadan on Tuesday.

He said, ““If you have any complaint against the Police, don’t go to social media. Go to the Commissioners of Police in the state.

“Some of our men will misbehave, we cannot guarantee that all of them will behave well. Report to the CPs or any superior officer who will take it up and ensure justice is done.
