Vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode Adebowale, has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for appointing a former Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor Olanike Adeyemo as the new Secretary to the State Government.
The VC in a letter of appreciation written to the Governor, noted that the governor has selected a true technocrat to help steer the ship of the state in the next four years.
He recalled that UI staff had served as Commissioners, Special Advisers, Chairman of Governing Council, Members of Boards, and even as the Director General of Protocols.
Professor Adebowale stated that the appointment of Professor Adeyemo as the SSG is a testimonial to the excellent services the previous/still serving appointees had rendered.
“On behalf of Council, Senate, Congregation, staff, and students of the University, Professor Adebowale expressed appreciation and prayed for a continuously mutually beneficial relationship between the Governor’s administration, the University of Ibadan and Oyo State.”
