The impeached Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Mr. Olakunle Oluomo has said that some lawmakers were terrorising him and looking for all means necessary to remove him from office.
In a dramatic move, 18 lawmakers impeached Oluomo while he was at a swearing of some judges by the governor on Tuesday.
He was impeached over an alleged misconduct.
He however rejected his impeachment while describing it as “gestapo impeachment”.
He said, “I have no problem with my colleagues, although from day one you all know the history behind my emergence as Speaker for the second term.
“But let be factual with you, I have not been finding it easy. Some members who did not want me as Speaker have not reneged in terrorising. It has been from one problem to another.
“I respect the opinion that says that the House of Assembly has the right to choose their leadership at any given time but if you want to do this, follow due process. We are lawmakers and not lawbreakers.”
