Senate to Receive Ambassadorial Nominees List Soon – Foreign Affairs Minister

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, has assured Nigerians that the list of ambassadorial nominees will soon be forwarded to the Senate for approval.

Tuggar made this known during the 5th edition of the Ministerial Press Briefing held in Abuja on Thursday, addressing concerns over the delay in appointing new ambassadors.

“The delayed appointment of ambassadors is what it is — the nature of governance and politics. I want to assure you that in the near future, the names of the appointed ambassadors will be sent to the Senate,” Tuggar stated.

He emphasized that despite the delay, diplomatic operations are running smoothly as mission officers are currently managing the embassies.

“We have mission officers running the embassies for now,” the minister added.

The delay has raised questions among foreign policy analysts and citizens alike, with some expressing concerns about Nigeria’s representation on the global stage.

However, Tuggar reassured the public that the process is on track and will soon be concluded.

More details to follow.
