Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has extended warm congratulations to Chief (Dr.) Onikepo Akande, Nigeria’s first female Minister of Industry and former President of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on her 80th birthday.
In a statement from his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, Sanwo-Olu praised Akande as a distinguished Nigerian and celebrated economist, accountant, and industrialist.
He commended her for her dedication to the country and her impactful contributions to both the business sector and society.
“On behalf of my family, the government, and the people of Lagos State, I congratulate Chief (Dr.) Onikepo Akande on her 80th birthday,” the governor stated.
“She has served Nigeria passionately and made significant contributions to governance, business, and nation-building. She truly deserves this recognition and more.”
Sanwo-Olu added that he prays for continued health for Akande, hoping she can continue to offer her invaluable service to Lagos, Nigeria, and the global business community.
