Rotamedics Pharmacy set to hold Free Medical Checkup for Kwarans

The Management of Rotamedics Pharmacy has disclosed plans to hold its Annual Wellness Day on Saturday 23rd, October, 2021.

Speaking in an interview on Friday, the Managing Director, Dr. Abdulraheem Malik stated that the annual event is one of the Corporate Social Responsibility of the Company aimed at giving back to the society while promoting a healthy Kwara. He stressed the need to help kwarans know their health status so they can seek timely medical intervention if necessary inorder to prevent future complications.

The US based Pharmacist and Health Economist, gave an instant where he probably saved a man’s life who had been taking Ciprofloxacin 500mg daily wrongly prescribed to him for high blood pressure for over four months. Upon checking his blood pressure, his systolic was not surprisingly high at over 200 which is medically termed Hypertensive Criss. He was asked to stop taking the drug and sent to the emergency department. He therefore advice participants to come with their regular drugs so pharmacists on site can review them and make professional recommendations if appropriate.

While commending the Kwara State Govenment’s giant stride in the health sector in the State, the kwara born health expert stressed that there is a need for private sector and corporate organizations to join the State Government in the fight to attain a great Kwara.

“I must say the Executive Governor of Kwara State State, Governor Abdulrahman is doing a great job in the State, and I must commend his efforts and determination to improve access to healthcare in Kwara state. However, we can’t leave everything to the government. There is a need for organisations like ours, other private sector areas and even individuals to come in to support and form partnership with the Government to move Kwara forward. Especially with the current global economic situation. This is the way to go in order to keep up with global developmental pace – for a better kwara.

The well spoken professional confirmed that all participants who are available at the stipulated time will enjoy free medical services at the program.

Listed among the free services that will be offered are Consultation, Deworming for both adults and children, and medical checks which included blood pressure, heart rate, blood sugar test, blood oxygen level, height, weight, BMI, Hepatitis B, Maleria Test, Eye Examination and Dental Examination.

The event has been scheduled to hold on the 23rd of October, 2021 between 9am to 5pm at the company’s head office located at No. 117, Abdulazeez Atta Road, Opposite B-Division police station, Surulere, Ilorin, Kwara State.
