Remain Steadfast, A’Ibom Gov tell Nigerians

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has urged the people of the State to remain steadfast with his administration, affirming his commitment to continuity in good governance for the development of the State.

Governor Eno gave the assurance Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the inauguration of the 10.519km Mkpat Enin -Ikot Ubo-Ikot Ntot-Nkikara Road in Mkpat Enin/Ikot Abasi Local Government Area.

The State Chief Executive thanked the people of Mkpat Enin for the honour and warm reception accorded him, assuring them of more developmental interventions particularly in the rural areas to justify the Rural Development focal point of his administration’s Arise Agenda.

He stated that the 10.519km road project was initiated by his predecessor, Governor Udom Emmanuel and expressed gratitude to the people of the area for the support given him to complete the road project.

“We need to continue to develop our rural communities, not just in Mkpat Enin, but all around the State. We are thankful to God who has given us the grace to complete the projects of the last administration. That is why it is always good to vote for continuity. If you didn’t support continuity, there is no way this project would have been completed now.

“When you check the commissioning stone, it is stated, this project was initiated in Deacon Udom Emmanuel’s administration, but completed and commissioned in Governor Umo Bassey Eno’s administration.”

Earlier, the Chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government Council, Hon Emmanuel Inyang, thanked the Governor for the numerous value added projects he has executed, most of which he acknowledged are domiciled in the area.

He expressed gratitude to the Governor for the construction of strategic road network which according to him has improved the economy and quality of life of the people.

The Council boss noted that the Mkpat Enin-Ikot Ubo-Ikot Nkikara road project represent not only progress, but a testament of remarkable leadership and great vision for the State, acknowledging the state administration’s commitment to quality infrastructure as exemplified in the road project.

On his part, the member representing Mkpat Enin State Constituency, Rt. Hon Uwem Imoh – Ita appreciated the Governor for keeping to his campaign promises, adding that it was laudable to see his commitment at completing projects of past administrations, and assured of continuous support from the constituency.

Speaking on behalf of the women, the Women leader, Mrs Idara Akpan, thanked Governor Eno for his vision, pragmatic leadership, and unwavering commitment to rural development.

She stated that the road project is a great boost to economic activities in the area as it connects the people to various strategic economic centers where they market their farm produce, reaffirming their commitment and unalloyed loyalty to the Governor throughout his tenure.

Similarly, the Paramount Ruler of Mkpat Enin LGA, HRM Edidem (Eld) Akpan Ekpene, appreciated the Governor saying the gesture was an indication that he is indeed a God fearing leader, and assured of continuous support and prayers.

Speaking on behalf of the youths, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on youth mobilisation, Comrade Iniobong Akpan, who, incidentally, hails from Mkpat Enin, said the youths of the area and indeed the State were happy with the Governor and his leadership disposition and also assured him of their continuous support.
