Protest: NAUS calls for calm, urges youths to be diplomatic

Following the protest across some States of the Federation, the President of National Association of University Students (NAUS), Hon Obaji Marshal has enjoined youths to be diplomatic in their demonstration.

He also urged them to take advantage of the forthcoming general elections to determine the best candidate to resolve the lingering issues in the country.

Marshal who said this in an interview with NATIONAL TELESCOPE, expressed concern over lingering naira and fuel scarcities crisis in the country.

He said, “It has come to the notice of the leadership of National Association of University Student (NAUS) that protest has been staged in some part of the country, places recorded as at the point of gathering this information include Ibadan, Ogbomosho, part of Oyo State, Edo in Benin State, Warri in Delta State and Oyun, Uith, and Oke Ose in kwara state.

“The noted cause of the protest according to report include Scarcity of Naria notes, fuel Scarcity and high price in Pump price.

“The Administration ably led by Hon : Obaji Marshall has been battling with series of issues since emergence. The President urged all chapters, leader’s and stakeholders involved in the protest to be diplomatic and careful with their approach.

“The President urged all students to use the coming General Election as an avenue in deciding who has interest of the citizen and students at heart by voting wisely and rightly.”
