Press Release: DEADLINE FOR PAYMENT OF SCHOOL CHARGES AND REGISTRATION FOR THE 2019/2020 SESSION

STUDENTS’ UNION GOVERNMENT

UNIVERSITY OF PORT HARCOURT OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION

I write in respect of the above subject and to inform all Fresh and Returning students of the University of Port Harcourt that the payment of school Charges and Registration for the 2019/2020 session for all students have been extended for two weeks.
Consequently, you’re advised to note the following:1. DEADLINE FOR PAYMENT OF CHARGES IS FRIDAY, 13TH MARCH, 2020. FOR THE AVOIDANCE OF DOUBT, ANY STUDENT WHO PAYS HIS/HER SCHOOL CHARGES AFTER THE DEADLINE (FRIDAY, 13TH MARCH, 2020), DOES THAT AT HIS/HER OWN RISK
2. END OF COURSE REGISTRATION IS FRIDAY, 20TH MARCH, 2020
This is due to the several meeting held by the SUG with the school management as regards to the continuous complain and reactions from the students who couldn’t pay the school charges before the previous deadline.
The school management out of the appeal solicited by the SUG had compassion and decided to extend the deadline.
The SUG therefore calls on all unique Uniport students to take advantage of this memo because by the General Regulations and Statement of Academic Policies of the University of Port Harcourt, any student who fails to pay his/her school charges and register his/her courses online before the deadlines, as stated above, will lose his/her studentship for the 2019/2020 session.
Also, note that the lost session shall form part of the total duration allowed programme. However, However, a student who had genuine reason(s) to apply for Temporary Withdrawal from studies for the session must do so by following the due process, before the end of the First Semester of the session.
The students should have confidence in the Students Union Government as we are there for them.
Signed:Comr. Serekara Fyneface jnr. Director of Information (Saturday 29th February, 2020)
