President Bola Tinubu is set to embark on a private visit to Paris, France, where he will engage in high-level discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron.
The trip, which is expected to take place on Wednesday, marks a significant step in fostering cooperation between Nigeria and France on key areas of mutual interest.
During his meeting with President Macron, President Tinubu is expected to delve into various issues, including trade, investment, security, and climate change.
The two leaders will likely explore opportunities for increased French investment in Nigeria, particularly in the areas of infrastructure development, energy, and agriculture.
Furthermore, the meeting will provide a platform for President Tinubu to seek France’s support in addressing the pressing security challenges facing Nigeria, including the Boko Haram insurgency and banditry.
The two leaders may also discuss ways to enhance cooperation in the fight against terrorism and extremism in the Sahel region.
Following his Paris visit, President Tinubu will head to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to join other African leaders at the 46th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council and the 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the AU Heads of State.
The summit, scheduled to take place from February 12th to 16th, 2025, will provide a platform for African leaders to discuss pressing regional and global issues, including peace and security, economic development, and climate change.
During the summit, President Tinubu is expected to engage with his counterparts from across the continent, sharing Nigeria’s experiences and perspectives on key issues affecting Africa.
The President will also use the opportunity to promote Nigeria’s interests and advance the country’s position on regional and global issues.
