Lagos State Head of Service (HoS), Mr. Olabode Agoro, has urged Nigerian youths to prepare for leadership roles and actively contribute to the nation’s development.
Agoro made this call at the re-commissioning of the Isheri Primary Health Centre and the official launch of the Capstone Project for the Greater Health Project.
This initiative is spearheaded and funded by fellows of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA Team Impact).
He praised the fellows for their societal contributions and encouraged other youths to follow their example. “The youth should emulate what the youths of Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy have done: to take up projects, fund them, and commission them,” Agoro said.
He stressed the importance of youth involvement in government, noting, “We are looking for youths to become part of the government because if you don’t join the government, you won’t have a say in creating policies by joining the local government, state civil service, and public service.
Together you are the future; we need people to hand over to; we need them at local, state, and federal levels; we need them in the system so that things like this can be promoted further.”
The Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mayoress Samiat Bada, commended the Academy’s program for enhancing healthcare services in the community.
Project team lead, Michael Ogunkoya, expressed gratitude to Governor Sanwo-Olu and his team for providing a platform to showcase their talents.
He highlighted that before their intervention, the health centre lacked proper infrastructure and sustainable energy system.
