The Ogun State Police Command is currently investigating a disturbing case involving the alleged defilement of a three-year-old girl by a neighbor in Odeda.
The incident came to light on March 1, 2025, at around 11am when 20-year-old Alaba Abdullahi reported her daughter’s distress to the authorities.
Alaba accused 25-year-old Muniru Haruna of committing the heinous act while the child was playing nearby.
Describing the traumatic ordeal, Alaba stated, “When I went to check on her, I saw my daughter in tears, coming out of Muniru’s room. It was a sight no mother should ever witness.”
Medical personnel who examined the child found that she had difficulty walking and exhibited signs of physical trauma.
Following this, Alaba quickly sought medical assistance, prompting both the victim and the suspect to be taken to General Hospital Odeda for further evaluation. Medical forms were issued, and police are currently awaiting the doctors’ assessments.
Muniru Haruna has been arrested but has denied the allegations against him.
The case has been escalated to the Division Crime Branch for thorough investigation and will be transferred to the State CID Eleweran upon completion of the initial inquiry.
In a statement, the Ogun State Police Command emphasized their commitment to justice, stating, “We take these allegations very seriously and are committed to ensuring justice for the victim.
The safety and well-being of our community, especially children, remain our top priority.”
