Police Crack Down on Armed Robbers, Cultists, Recovers Weapons

The Delta State Police have confirmed the arrest of five suspected armed robbers and cultists in Oghara, Sapele, and surrounding areas. 

The arrests follow a series of cult-related activities, kidnappings, and armed robberies. 

According to reports, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, directed a special team to collaborate with local DPOs to address the issue.

A special team led by ASP Julius Robinson therefore conducted an intelligence-led operation, resulting in the seizure of firearms and ammunition. 

The suspects, including Ochuko Joel Ofoye, Michael Anwul, Great Ojareri, Innocent Esefeta, and Ogaga Ebuke, are linked to various cult groups. 

The police recovered AK-47 magazines, live ammunition, a Beretta pistol, and a locally made pistol.

The suspects are in custody, and investigations are ongoing, according to the police public relations officer, SP Edafe Bright
