Police Arrest Two for Alleged Homosexual in Gombe

Gombe State Police Command has apprehended two individuals in Kumo Local Government Area of the state for allegedly engaging in homosexual activities.

The suspects, Hassan Abubakar, 25, and Jibrin Ibrahim, 22, were exposed following a dispute over a failed payment agreement. According to ASP Buhari Abdullahi, the Command’s spokesperson, the altercation began after Abubakar reportedly had anal intercourse with Ibrahim but refused to pay the agreed sum of N15,000.

The incident came to light when the ward head of the area alerted the police at 10:40 p.m. on July 11. Officers from the Akko Division responded promptly and detained the suspects.

ASP Abdullahi explained that the disagreement escalated when Ibrahim snatched Abubakar’s phone due to the unpaid debt. This led to a violent confrontation involving machetes, drawing the attention of local residents.

“During the investigation, Jibrin Ibrahim voluntarily disclosed that Hassan Abubakar had promised to pay him N15,000 after the act,” Abdullahi stated.

The suspects were taken to a hospital for medical attention before being moved to police custody, where they confessed to the allegations.

The police spokesperson assured that the suspects would face charges in court upon the completion of the ongoing investigation.

Jibrin Ibrahim, speaking to journalists, claimed that Hassan introduced him to homosexuality. “I was arrested on Thursday when Hassan called me to his house, promising N15,000 for sexual relations. When he refused to pay, I took his phone. He then attacked me with a machete, and that’s how we got caught,” he said.
