A young boy was reportedly shot and killed by officers of the Nigeria Police Force in the Kubwa area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on August 3, 2024.
The incident occurred as the #EndBadGovernance protest entered its third day.
Eyewitnesses claim that the boy, who was not participating in the protest, was shot at close range near the Zenith Bank area of Kubwa.
According to activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju, the incident was an “unprovoked murder,” stating that the boy was merely observing the protesters when he was killed.
Efforts to confirm the incident with the FCT Police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
This tragic event adds to the growing list of reported casualties during the nationwide protests against bad governance.
