Some Nigerians have taken to social media to heavily criticise the Senior Pastor of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, over what has been described as a controversial prayer point.
The RCCG GO in a trending clip was heard passionately praying for his church members, declaring Christians from other churches will bow to them.
He said, “I decree in the name that is above every other name, Christians from other denominations will bow before you.”
This prayer point however didn’t sit right with many as some Nigerians took to social media to express disgust on it.
Nigerian entertainer, Charley Boy, also known as Area Fada in a tweet on his X handle, chided the clergy man over the comment.
He said, ““Oooooo, dis man again? The same man wey dey yarn Nigerians say him dey drink tea with “God” every morning.
“Yeye dey smell. Oga Adeboye no dey use God’s name in vain, no dey take religion dey con mumu Nigerians, make God no come vex for u one day.”
A netizen, with account name @usendollar said: “If you don’t go to church anymore gather here I’ve not been going to church for the past 2 years but I’ve made over 400 million from tech no God by yourself and talk to him directly!”
Also @gallar said, “Even if this prayer gets as e be if we really check am” RCCG” is the biggest church in Nigeria and has the largest congregation.”
@fiinefornoreason wrote: “I will not bow before any of you sha… they’re even shouting Amen.” while @femininecarenaija said, “Those of you praying that God should make you the first and not the last, is it not the same prayer?”
As for @effedeborah, the cleric “Might be that he has dementia he really needs to retire.”
