Paris 2024: Nigerians Urged to Support Olympic Athletes

The Minister of Sports Development, John Enoh, has called on Nigerians to support the country’s athletes participating in the ongoing Paris 2024 Olympics.

Enoh made the call on his X account on Thursday, praising the athletes for their performances so far.

He noted that the female basketball team, D’Tigress, made the nation proud despite losing to the world’s number one ranked team.

The minister also commended other athletes, including Ese Ukpeseraye, Uchenna Ogazi, and Favour Ofili, for their outstanding performances.

In a separate statement, Enoh urged the athletes to persist and exhibit their talents and tenacity in the true spirit of Nigerian sportsmanship.

He expressed confidence in their potential to secure medals with the support of Nigerians.

Nigeria’s athletes have encountered some setbacks in the track and field events, but the country still has hopes of winning.
