National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Oyo State Coordinator, Mrs. Grace Ogbuogebe has debunked a report circulating on social media that an unidentified female corps member was spotted wearing a long skirt Uniform as opposed the standard trouser at the Oyo State NYSC Orientation Camp, Iseyin.

According to the report posted on legit blog, the Corps member was spotted preaching the gospel to her fellow corps members at the camp ground.

However, the Oyo State Coordinator while speaking in an interview with newsmen at Swearing-in Ceremony of the 2022 Batch ‘A’ Stream 2 Corps Members held at the Orientation Camp, Iseyin, Oyo State on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 said the premises in the report “does not look anything close to the Oyo State Camp ground” describing the report as “blatant lie”.

She maintained that “the NYSC programmes and the rules are evident in our bylaws and in the act. Corps members are meant to wear the khaki trouser, the jacket, the crested vest, the cap, the jungle booth or the stockings and different kinds of uniform, ofcourse skirt is not one of the uniform.

“So any Corps Members wearing skirt is completely disobeying the law as recorded in the bylaw. So we don’t tolerate that, we don’t condone it.

“So the issue of they found a corps member wearing skirt in oyo is a blatant lie. Because even that environment is not even oyo environment.” She added.
