Oyo NSCDC Receives New Recruits As Nationwide Training Begins

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC) has commenced nationwide training for new intakes.

Receiving the new recruits at the Oyo State Command Headquarters, Agodi, Ibadan on Friday 8th of April 2022, the State Commandant, CC Adaralewa Michael Akintayo charged them to imbibe the Corps’ tenet of integrity and humility in service delivery as they go through the first phase of their training programme.

According to a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Okuneye Oyindamola, the training exercise commenced on 4th of April 2022 for the 2019 intakes of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and is the first phase of the scheduled training programme lined up by the Corps for the new recruits.

He encouraged them to not only pass through the training but allow the training to pass through them as this will be useful for them in the discharge of their duties as Security personnel.

Commandant Adaralewa Michael also commended the effort of the Commandant General(CG) of the Corps, CG Ahmed Abubarka Audi PhD, mni for the timely recruitment of personnel into the Corps to quell the incessant nefarious security challenges like Boko haram, Kidnapping, Banditry, Rape and all sort of Criminal activities facing the country.

Finally, Commandant Adaralewa Michael prayed and wished the newly recruits a fruitful training session.

Meanwhile, the NSCDC Headquarters, Director of Public Relations, DCC Odumosu Olusola in a statement made available to the media stated that the new intakes are to undergo basic mandatory training before proceeding for career courses.

“At state commands level where they are to undergo basic mandatory training before proceeding for career courses, the new entrants are required to physically present themselves for the already pre-planned programme coordinated from the National Headquarters.

“Preparatory to the commencement of the nationwide training, the Commandant General of NSCDC, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD, mni, had directed Zonal Commanders and State Commandants to make adequate arrangements for the resumption of the training program.

“The harmonized basic training is expected to progress simultaneously for three months in different locations across the country where they will be exposed to regimental orientation and the mandates of the Corps. Thereafter, they will proceed in batches for more training at the various training colleges of the Corps.”
