Oyo NSCDC decorates 801 newly promoted Officers

No fewer than 801 newly promoted Officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oyo State Command, were decorated on Thursday at the state headquarters in Ibadan.

Among the Officers promoted are 9 deputy commandants, 26 assistant commandants, 37 chief superintendents corps, 137 superintendents, 180 deputy superintendents, 324 assistant superintendents I, and 88 assistant superintendents II.

Decorating the newly promoted officers, the state commandant, Dr. Michael Adaralewa, described the promotion as an outcome of excellence, dedication, hard work, loyalty, and discipline portrayed by the personnel during their service.

He commended the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, for the approval of the promotion of 21,385 NSCDC officers.

He said, “These promotions are not merely titles or badges; they represent a renewed sense of purpose and motivation for our officers. They are recognised for their expertise, their expertise, and their unwavering dedication to service. They are a powerful symbol of the NSCDC’s commitment to growth, professionalism, and excellence.”

“As you assume your new ranks, I remind you that with increased responsibility comes greater accountability. You must strive to justify the confidence reposed in you by demonstrating exemplary leadership, mentorship, and guidance to your subordinates. I urge you to see this promotion as a call to higher service and responsibility. I challenge you to uphold the core values and ethics of the NSCDC and to discharge your duties with honesty, integrity, and patriotism.

“I also encourage you to continue to learn and improve yourselves and to mentor and support your juniors and peers. I am confident that with this promotion you will contribute more to the security and development of Oyo State and Nigeria at large. I am also optimistic that with this promotion you will achieve more success and fulfillment in your career and personal life.”

The Oyo NSCDC boss, also encouraged those who were not promoted, not to be discouraged, adding that promotion is a process and their time will come. He charged the officers to continue to work hard and stay focused with a positive attitude, adding that in due course, their dedication and commitment would eventually be recognised and rewarded.

Speaking on behalf of the newly decorated officers, Olubiyi Ayodele Oludamola, promoted from Assistant Superintendent of Corps 1 to Deputy Superintendent of Corps appreciated the Commandant General for finding the beneficiaries worthy of the promotion. She said the new position would spur them to do more for the nation.

The decoration ceremony had in attendance the service commanders across the State, family members of the promoted officers, and well-wishers, amongst others.
