Precious Cornerstone University (PCU), Ibadan, has announced the schedule for its third Convocation ceremony, set to hold from Wednesday, November 6, to Monday, November 11, 2024.
The institution has planned a series of events to celebrate its graduating students and showcase the achievements of the university community.
This was made known in a statement posted on the institution’s website and obtained by NATIONAL TELESCOPE on Monday.
The convocation week will begin on Wednesday, November 6, with a press conference hosted by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Timothy O. Adejumo, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a community service activity at noon.
Later that afternoon, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency will present a public lecture at 2:00 p.m. The following day, Thursday, November 7, will feature an exhibition at 10:00 a.m. and a novelty football match at 4:00 p.m.
Friday, November 8, will see the Convocation Play presented at 5:00 p.m., setting a festive tone for the weekend’s events.
On Saturday, November 9, guests will attend the Vice-Chancellor’s Dinner and Variety Evening at 4:00 p.m. The Foundation Day Thanksgiving service will be held on Sunday, November 10, at 9:00 a.m., with convocation rehearsals scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
The main Convocation Ceremony will take place on Monday, November 11, at 10:00 a.m.
During this ceremony, PCU will confer honorary degrees on Rev. Felix Owolabi and Rev. Gbeminiyi Eboda and formally admit graduates into first-degree programs.
The highlight of the event will be a Convocation Lecture delivered by the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Oluseyi A. Makinde.
His lecture, titled “Faith, Leadership and Governance: Preparing the Next Generation for Ethical Leadership in Nigeria,” is expected to inspire conversations on leadership and ethics.
Professor Adejumo has extended an invitation to parents, guardians, and friends of the university to join in celebrating the achievements of the Legacy Class of 2024.
On behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar Mrs. Morenike F. Afolabi conveyed heartfelt congratulations to the graduating class and expressed the university’s excitement to welcome guests to the festivities.
