Oyo closes six medical facilities due to quack medicine

The Oyo State government declared on Thursday that it has closed six medical establishments due to quack medicine.

The declaration was issued by the government and provided to NATIONAL TELESCOPE in a statement.

According to the state administration, the impacted facilities were sealed due to a number of infractions, such as hiring unfit individuals to perform medical services and participate in unlawful activities.

New Jobi Memorial Hospital, Omolara Clinic & Maternity Home, Amazing Grace Medical Clinic, Emiloju Clinic and Maternity Center, Safeway Clinic, and Emilagba Clinic and Maternity Center are among the medical facilities that are impacted.

Dr. Adekunle Aremu, the chairman of the State Antiquackery Task Force Committee, stated in his speech that the team conducted the operation as part of the government’s efforts to protect the health and well-being of residents.

He also said anyone found culpable would face the full wrath of the law.

Meanwhile, Dr. Aremu has urged the public to report any suspicious or illegal activity in any health facility to the Ministry of Health or the nearest security agency.

The public have been advised to patronize only accredited and registered health facilities in the state, adding that they must ensure only qualified personnel attend to them.

“The goals remain clear: the Oyo State government is dedicated to upholding rigorous standards and prioritizing the health and safety of every resident.

“The government ensures that healthcare services consistently meet the highest benchmarks for quality and safety, so citizens can trust their well-being,” he said.
