Victor Osimhen continued his fine form with a stunning brace, helping Galatasaray secure a thrilling 3-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.
Galatasaray, who dominated the game from the outset, took the lead in the 6th minute thanks to a powerful volley from Yunus Akgun. However, Tottenham responded quickly, leveling the score in the 18th minute through Will Lankshear, who found the back of the net.
But it was Osimhen who would be the standout player on the night. The Nigerian striker put his side back in front with two well-taken goals in the 31st and 39th minutes, giving Galatasaray a 3-1 lead heading into the second half.
Tottenham mounted a late challenge after Dominic Solanke, a second-half substitute, scored shortly after his introduction. However, despite continued pressure from the visitors, Galatasaray held firm, with Osimhen and his teammates securing all three points to boost their position in the group.
Osimhen’s performance further solidified his importance to the Turkish side, as he continues to thrive in his new environment at Galatasaray. The victory also marked a significant step in the team’s quest for European glory this season.
