A former Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Kwara State Chapter, Professor Timothy Opoola said it is satanic to preach Riches to people as a Pastor.
The cleric stated this while delivering a lecture at the 2021 Leaders Retreat organised by Peculiar Gospel Outreach Ministry in Imode, Oke-Ero Local Government Area of Kwara State, on Tuesday, July 20, 2021.
Citing the Holy Bible as written in Matthew 19:24, the cleric stressed that since the holy bible said it is difficult for the rich to make heaven, then calling people into riches cannot be an assignment giving to any man from God but Satan who wants more people in hell.
According to him, any pastor who says his calling is to make people rich is a fake pastor.
“One day I was hearing someone saying his calling is to make people rich. “Your calling is satanic because the scripture says it is difficult for the rich to make heaven. How then can you say God has called you into making people go through the difficulty of making heaven.”
Speaking further on the characteristics of a True Minister, Professor Opoola stated that a true Minister must concentrate on preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and not preaching themselves.
He said “A true Minister will always seek the glory of God and not personal glory, A true Minister should live a life worthy of emulation, must be able to give himself to the leading of the Holy Ghost, must have inner satisfaction, must only depend on the power of God, must live a prayerful life and must be humble.
“Anybody preaching any Gospel that is not the Gospel of Jesus Christ does not belong to Him and is not a true Minister.
“When you see a true Minister, he will always be concern of winning souls and not the other way round.”
He defined a true Minister as one who has been called by God.
Adding that, the major call of God upon any Pastor is to win Soul.
The Ex-CAN Chairman however cautioned those who considered themselves as true Ministers to be careful of not been carried away by the things in the world.
He noted that the happenings around the world can make a Pastor to be carried away from the specific call of God upon his life but through Prayer, focus and close relationship with the Holy Spirit, a Minister will be successful with the assignment.
“A true Minister need to be very careful so that he will not be carried away from the call of God upon his life.
In the same vein, the General Overseer of Peculiar Gospel Outreach Ministry, Pastor Joseph Babatunde, called on Ministers to take full responsibility of their assignment.
Speaking during the question and answer session at the Retreat, Pastor Babatunde stressed that patience and long suffering are virtues required to be successful in the work of the ministry.
