Ondo gov sack commissioners, appoints ex-NASS clerk as deputy

The Ondo State Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has selected a former Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly, Olaide Adelami, as his new deputy.

It will be recalled that Aiyedatiwa was sworn in as governor of the state on December 27, after the demise of his boss, Rotimi Akeredolu.

In a bid to rejig his cabinet, the governor, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Ebenezer Adeniyan, on Wednesday, sacked all the commissioners and special advisers

It reads, “All members of the cabinet are to immediately hand over to the Permanent Secretaries or the most senior administrative officers in their respective offices.

“All the affected officials are directed to hand over all government properties in their possession.”

Barely few hours after, the governor in another statement, transmitted, Adelami name as the new deputy governor to the state House of Assembly for approval.

Adelami, who hails from Owo, Owo Local Government Area of the stated, same LGA with Akeredolu, retired as Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly in April 2018.
