The Ondo State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has warned that it will confiscate any articulated vehicle found carrying animals and humans together.
The state FRSC Sector Commander, Dr. Samuel Ibitoye, made this known after a meeting with members of the Ondo State House of Assembly.
Ibitoye explained that the practice of “mixed loading” is a major safety concern, and the FRSC will not tolerate it.
He stated that enforcement is ongoing, and vehicles found violating this rule will be confiscated, and the drivers sanctioned.
The sector commander also emphasized the importance of patience on the roads, advising road users to plan their journeys well, avoid speeding, and follow traffic rules.
He stressed that road safety is a shared responsibility and requires the cooperation of all road users.
Ibitoye’s warning comes as part of the FRSC’s efforts to reduce road crashes and ensure safer roads in Ondo State.
The corps has been engaging in advocacy and enforcement efforts to address safety concerns and promote responsible driving practices.
