Ondo Assembly confirms Ex-NASS Clerk as deputy gov

Former Clerk of the National Assembly, Olayide Adelami was on Thursday confirmed as the Deputy Governor of Ondo State by the state House of Assembly.

Adelani was confirmed barely 24 hours after the governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, sent his name to the Assembly for screening and approval.

After it had conducted his screening exercise at the Assembly complex earlier in the day, the Assembly confirmed him during the plenary after the consideration of a report by the House selection committee presided over by the Speaker, Mr. Olamide Oladiji.

The Speaker, while ruling for confirmation, congratulated the Deputy Governor designate and enjoined him to put in his best.

He assured the new deputy governor of the assembly of support to the executive for the delivery of the dividend of democracy to the people.

In his address, Adelani lauded the governor for considering him to be his deputy while assuring him of his commitment to the service and promised that he would not betray the confidence reposed in him.
